Please join us on April 25 to learn how to make challah. Fahni Pierce will be teaching us her secrets for a tasty challah. Our event starts at 1:00 p.m. at CBI. We will also be holding our chapter elections that day so if you wish to run for president of our chapter, don’t miss this event! We will be charging $18.00 per person to cover the cost of baking materials. Please bring a bowl so that you may take an unbaked challah home to bake and enjoy. If you have any questions and/or you wish to RSVP please send an email to Geri Kahn at hadassahvallejo@gmail.com. New and prospective members are welcome to attend.

Since the Challah bake is coming this weekend , I thought it would be
appropriate to send along a recipe. This is a dessert item using
Challah and it’s really yummy if you have a panini maker or sandwich
press.
CHOCOLATE STRAWBERRY PANINI
8 slices Challah
1 1/2 T. melted unsalted butter
8 oz. bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
8 large strawberries, stemmed and thinly sliced
powdered sugar for dusting
cinnamon
For garnish: fresh strawberries and mint
Brush one side of each slice of bread with melted butter. Place 4
slices of bread on work surface, buttered side down. Top each one
evenly with chopped chocolate, then sliced strawberries. Place
remaining bread of top of the strawberries buttered side up. Toast
until the chocolate is melted and the bread is toasted golden brown
and crispy.
Çut into halves or quarters and dust lightly with powdered sugar and
cinnamon. Serve while warm.
Enjoy,
Jeanne (Longworth)
